Method, evidence, and repair verification
Course overview plus the first module: turn a symptom into a repeatable test plan, prove the cause, and verify the repair.
Systems, wiring, and control dependencies
Trace a fault through control units, power supplies, grounds, 5 V references, gateways, and the relationship between command and result.
Scanning, DTC evidence, and active tests
Scan completely, preserve freeze-frame and readiness evidence, interpret DTC status, and choose the tester function that answers the question.
PIDs, correlations, and plausibility
Select useful PIDs, check plausibility at known conditions, and compare requested versus actual values without mistaking calculated data for a measurement.
Inputs, outputs, and circuit proof
Separate a failed component from a supply, wiring, connector, control, or mechanical fault by testing the whole circuit.
Starting, misfire, and mixture faults
Work through no-start, misfire, and mixture symptoms by testing air, fuel, ignition, compression, timing, and control together.
Rail pressure, injection, and air path
Diagnose hard starting and loss of power by correlating air handling, rail pressure, injection control, and the mechanical system.
DPF, EGR, SCR, and AdBlue
Approach DPF, EGR, SCR, and AdBlue faults with evidence before attempting regeneration or replacing an expensive component.
Waveforms and time-based evidence
Capture safe, interpretable waveforms for sensors, actuators, synchronization, and mechanical checks.
Network diagnosis and physical layer tests
Localize communication faults using network topology, module power and ground checks, termination, and physical measurements.
Brakes, steering, SRS, body, and HVAC
Apply the same diagnostic method to braking, steering, body systems, SRS, HVAC, and other vehicle systems with appropriate safety limits.
Unknown faults and complete case reports
Solve an unknown fault from symptom to verified repair, including incomplete data, intermittent faults, no-communication, and software decisions.
Study notes
The presentations teach a diagnostic method and safe test order. Pinouts, limits, repair procedures, and software decisions still need to be checked against the exact vehicle and current manufacturer information. Stop any test that could create a safety risk and use qualified local help for brakes, steering, SRS, high-voltage systems, fuel leaks, or a vehicle that is unsafe to operate.
